HLNDV Awards First Snook Fund Scholarship Grant to Magee Rehabilitation Hospital

The Healthcare Leadership Network of the Delaware Valley has awarded a $2,500 grant to Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, the first internship award from the I. Donald Snook Education Fund.  On February 17, 2009, Jack Carroll, CEO of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, graciously accepted the award on behalf of Magee at the ACHE Breakfast with the Regents hosted at the Union League in Philadelphia, PA.

Magee Rehabilitation Hospital was selected from a number of excellent applications received this year from a variety of local healthcare organizations.

Established in November 2007, the fund has garnered contributions from generous donors to support Don Snook’s vision of helping students obtain “real world” work opportunities in the Philadelphia area.  A dedicated team of HLNDV members have worked to establish the program’s structure and processes to enable continuing allocation of internship grants.

Despite the current economic situation, HLNDV hopes to keep the Snook Education Fund growing through regular fundraising events and through the use of our online donation form at http://www.hlndv.org/education.

Thank you for your continued support to this worthwhile initiative!  Please feel free to contact Jennifer Bastian at snookeducationfund.hlndv@gmail.com  with any questions about the fund or award distribution process.
